GFI MailEssentials® offers comprehensive, configurable, multi-layered protection against today’s email threats.
GFI MailEssentials protects your email network against email-borne viruses and other malware threats using advanced email filtering technologies and up to five antivirus scanning engines. With a spam capture rate of over 99% and minimal false positives, IT administrators can rest assured that company email is secure and spam-free.
GFI MailEssentials puts control in the hands of the administrator and user, with a central, web-based email management dashboard, and email reporting tools.

Anti-spam Edition: Server-based anti-spam and anti-phishing.

•Recommended: 10GB

Note

Hardware requirements depend on a range of factors including email volume, and number of Anti Virus engines enabled in GFI MailEssentials. The requirements specified above are required for GFI MailEssentials only.

•Microsoft IIS SMTP service or Exchange Server 2003/2007*/2010/2013/2016 (*SP1 or later for Exchange 2007)
•Microsoft IIS World Wide Web service
•Microsoft Messaging Queuing Service (MSMQ)
•Microsoft .NET Framework 4/4.5
•ASP.NET & Windows Authentication role services when installing on Windows Server 2008
•Microsoft SQL Server/Microsoft SQL Server Express (free) is suggested for the Reporting engine database for installs with more than 100 mailboxes.

•GFI MailEssentials Information Store Scanning (VSAPI) cannot be used if any other software is registered to make use of Microsoft Exchange VSAPI.
•GFI MailEssentials can also be installed in virtual environments such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare virtualization software.

Antivirus and backup software

Antivirus and backup software scanning may cause GFI MailEssentials to malfunction. This occurs when such software denies access to certain files required by GFI MailEssentials.
